Singing in the rain

This weekend's pitter patter of a mini rain shower and gloomy weather made my heart all a flutter and SOOOO excited for fall. One of my fall wish list items is rain boots. Here are some of the styles that have caught my eye.

Kate Spade New York "Randi Too" - via Nordstrom

Kamkin (in eggplant)- via Nordstrom

Hunter "Boa" (in Python)- via Nordstrom

Steve Madden "Tsunamii" (in black or olive)- via Nordstrom

This is just a little sneak peek. Can't wait to start trying them all on as they arrive in stores here in SoCal.

What rain boots are on your fall radar?

Favorite Blog Friday {No.1}

As I become more and more comfortable with this blog and writing it, I want to thank some of the blogs that I follow on a daily basis that continue to inspire me to follow my heart and passion. I decided to devote a blog every Friday to one of my favorite blogs and the creative blogger behind it. Hopefully you too will be inspired by these talented peeps!

For my first Favorite Blog Friday I have to give big props to Natalya's Closet

I first met Natalya of Natalya's Closet at the Nordstrom Fall Fashion show at the Irvine Spectrum in 2009. She was a bright eyed fashion enthusiast that shared another blog with her friend Kerri. The two friends took daily photos of their outfits and created posts that included where to find and the cost of their stylish masterpieces. Since, she has created this amazing blog of her own, became a fashion student and is making her dreams come to life!

Why I follow:
Natalya's Closet was the first blog that I followed. I couldn't wait to log on everyday to see what she was wearing or read about her predictions for trends. She is fearless and stays true to her individual style. She engages her readers and makes us feel like we are all her girlfriends hanging out and chatting about fashion.

Please check out Natalya's Closet and go back again and again to be delighted by her charm and adventures. Would love to hear why you love her too, so please come back and post a comment below.

Pink is the word - spread it!

Hi, fashion friends!

So here it is, the first post. I have been waiting for months for the "perfect" topic and couldn't bring myself to "go ahead and be a blogger". You know, sitting down and writing what's in my heart. Well here it is a blog post about something that makes my heart happy and sad at the same time. Most of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. My auntie was diagnosed over 10 years ago and my family has been given an amazing gift to still have her with us (and kickin' booty every day). She is celebrating her 55th birthday on Oct. 2nd and October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Soooo, hence the intro to my "perfect" first blog. There is a ton of PINK POWER fashion and style out there that supports the cause. Most of these sites give back and donate a portion of the proceeds to breast cancer research. I included some pictures from my cousin's inspirational adventure last month at the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer in Santa Barbara. She (and about 2500 others) walked 40 miles over 2 days and she kept telling us "chemo doesn't get blisters". Exactly! Enjoy and please support your local breast cancer efforts and awareness.
